OH yeah, the first one, I never actually played it. But I guess you can catch "All" the pokemon, if you know what I mean.

Well, it's like this, in the original, you can catch all the pokemon, which is like all the pokemon that were created at that time. A.K.A. 151.
But in R/S pinball, you can only catch the Hoenn dex and the three johto starters.
