Angel Pokémon:
Spriting Tutorial - How to make Angel Pokémon
1) Okay. To start with, get the following Pokémon: - Shedinja,
- Articuno,
- Togetic,
- Budew,
- A Shiny Grotle and an optional Pokémon.
2) Open Paint and put them in an average sized space. I prefer to use Paint's default dimensions: 512 x 384. Now, carefully erase Articuno's body, leaving the wings on the page. Recolour them to white with Togetic's palette. 3) Position your chosen Pokémon on top of the wings. Move them about until they look natural and smoothly join onto the rest of the Pokémon. Now get Shedinja's halo and recolour it to yellow. Use the palette on Budew's stomach. Make it hover above the angel's head. 3.5) -OPTIONAL- Using your scratching skills, make the halo a complete circle to add that angellic feel to your Pokémon. As aforementioned, this step is optional, and your sprite will look just as good with the unedited halo. 4) The angel now requires to be recoloured. The primary colour on your Pokémon should be recoloured to Togetic's white, the secondary with the pale green palette on the Shiny Grotle's feet. Any leftover parts that are still their original colours can either be kept the same or recoloured as Articuno's blue (I recommend using the Shiny Articuno's palette, as it consists of lighter shades of blue compared to the ordinary sprite). This is what my angellic Combusken looks like: Say hi! Fallen Angel Pokémon:- Spoiler:
Spriting Tutorial - How to make a Fallen Angel Pokémon
Foreword: Before we start, lemme just say that this isn't a tutorial to make demonic Pokémon, but fallen angels. There's a difference, m'kay? 1) Once again, you'll need a few Pokémon and a bit more skill to make these guys. Get the following off of a sprite resource of your choice: - Shedinja,
- Articuno,
- Shiny Charizard,
- And the Pokémon you want to modify.
2) Put the above into a decent-sized workspace. I prefer to use Paint's default dimensions: 512 x 384. Now, carefully erase Articuno's body, leaving the wings on the page. Recolour them to the black on Charizard. 3) Position your chosen Pokémon on top of the wings. Move them about until they look natural and smoothly join onto the rest of the Pokémon. Now get Shedinja's halo and recolour it to the dark red on the inner part of Charizard's wings. Make it hover above the angel's head. 3.5) -OPTIONAL- This isn't compulsary, but to give the wanted effect, break the halo so that one part is either hanging down or just missing. As aforementioned, this step is optional, and your sprite will look just as good with the unedited halo. Another optional addition to give the desired look is recreate the outline of the wings in the dark red used before. Check out my final result if you don't understand. 4) The angel now requires to be recoloured. The primary colour on your Pokémon should be recoloured to the black on Charizard. Replace the secondary with the dark red palette inside Charizard's wings. Any leftover parts that are still their original colours can either be kept the same or recoloured as the yellow in Charizard's stomach/Dialga's dark blue palette. This is what my angellic Combusken looked like when he got kicked out of heaven: Cyborg Pokémon:- Spoiler:
Spriting Tutorial - How to make Cyborg Pokémon
1) Get these dudes and paste them on Paint. - Steelix
- Magnemite [Optional, yet recommended]
- Magnezone [Read Above]
- [Palette]
- Optional Pokémon
2) Recolour your Pokémon to Steelix's colours, and then choose which limbs/body parts you want to be mechanical/broken. Close off the part with the darkest shade in the palette above. 3) Now, recolour the part with the palette. This doesn't look robotic enough yet, so now draw random line of each shade, including some of the grey's in Steelix's palette. Don't overdo, but don't underdo it, either. (Take a look at the arms, eyepiece and left foot on Dragonite's sprite at the bottom of the tutorial) 4) Now comes the 'splicing' part of it. If you want to, get Magnezone's antenna and merge it onto your cyborg's head. Recolour it to the corresponding palette nearest to it. 5) If your base has a tail or something, get Magnemite's magnet's and replace that with it. Also add the screws if you feel it necessary. 6) Fix up the shading throughout the sprite and fix up any things that you feel aren't natural/smooth enough. There you are, a cybernetically modified Dragonite: I recoloured his underbelly to a dark black from a sprite that I can't remember. It was probably custom, though.
